Michele Reese Granger is a Florida native, Emmy Award-winning journalist, nationally recognized marketing and public relations executive, and the founder of Bank on Girls, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women with the financial knowledge, confidence, and independence they deserve.
Throughout her career, Michele has been passionate about helping people understand complex ideas through clear, compelling storytelling. Today, she serves as Senior Director of Marketing at Museum of Miami, Florida's largest history museum and a Smithsonian Affiliate, where she has led award-winning marketing campaigns, increased museum attendance by 30 percent, and earned national media coverage in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Fox News. Her leadership in communications has also been recognized by PR News, which named her one of the Top Women in PR in the United States.
While Michele has built a successful career in communications, her greatest passion is helping young women build confident financial futures.
Like many women, Michele entered adulthood without understanding the fundamentals of personal finance. She knows firsthand what it feels like to be intimidated by financial language and too embarrassed to ask questions. That experience inspired her to create Bank on Girls, a nonprofit committed to ensuring the next generation of young women has the education she wishes she had received.
Through engaging workshops, educational resources, and mentorship, Michele helps young women understand budgeting, saving, investing, credit, retirement planning, and the lifelong power of financial confidence. Her philosophy is simple: financial confidence creates choices. When young women understand money, they gain the freedom to pursue their goals, build independent lives, and create brighter futures.
Beyond her professional career, Michele has dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to strengthening her community. She has helped raise more than $1 million for nonprofit organizations focused on education, the arts, healthcare, and community access. Her leadership includes serving as President of Beaux Arts in support of the Lowe Art Museum, bringing opera education to Title I school students through the Young Patronesses of the Opera, and leading fundraising efforts for organizations including the American Red Cross and Chapman Partnership.
Michele is also honored to serve as Mrs. Florida International, using her statewide platform to advocate for financial literacy and inspire women and girls to believe in their potential.
Above all, Michele believes every young woman deserves the opportunity to understand money, not because wealth is the goal, but because financial confidence creates choices. Through Bank on Girls, she is committed to helping the next generation build lives grounded in confidence, purpose, and possibility.
